Broadway House for Homeless Women

The parish tithe and the green envelope contributions are used to assist with the operations of the House.  This year the green envelope contributions went to purchase fresh food for the women of the house.  A member of our community has served as a liaison between Broadway House and the parish.  Parishioners provide rides to appointments and grocery shopping.  At Christmas, the residents were provided gifts from the Giving Tree and a Christmas tree was purchased for the House.  In addition, our St. Vincent de Paul provides assistance with food, rent, bus tickets and other needs.  Management changed in May 2006.  Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) currently manages Broadway House.

The program at Broadway House involves the residents in the management of their housing through self-help and participating in decisions involving the house. Each resident is a member of a Resident Council that meets monthly to plan activities, assign chores, discuss neighbor policies and programs and provide input into management and maintenance issues.

Needs:
You can become involved with Broadway House in several ways. One-third of the parish tithe to outreach will go to support the women. Also, you can direct your own financial support to Broadway House with the use of the green Parish Outreach envelope that you receive each month.

Members of St. Patrick’s community are involved in activities such as, donations, providing food and gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas, providing rides for residents for shopping and appointments, and other individual needs.
