REMINDER - REGISTER NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SEDER AT CAMP BROTHERHOOD Wednesday, March 27, 2013 - 6:30 - 8:30 pm Please join us at Cascadian Center’s Annual Community Interfaith Seder. This ritual feast which Rabbi Ted Falcon will guide, with sharings from Fr. Treacy, Rev. Tyrone Garay, Imam Jamal Rahman, Pastor Don Mackenzie and music by Jon Ramer, marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover. More than a festival, it is an elaborate teaching experience intended to call people to their identity as the People of God. By using all of the senses, the Passover Seder tells the story of God’s grace in history and calls the participants to experience and share in the story as their own story. There has been increasing interest in religious and spiritual communities regarding this ancient festival. Various reasons are cited for this renewed interest: an increasing sensitivity to cultural and societal problems and a corresponding desire to learn about others; a renewed awareness of the importance of the Old Testament Scriptures as Christian Scripture; a desire or even a need in our modern world to recover a sense of the sacred through liturgy and sacrament; the willingness to find new and innovative ways to worship; and perhaps even the enjoyment that comes from acknowledging the continuity with a 3,000 year old community of faith. Please join us at Camp Brotherhood on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 6:30 pm for this special occasion. Tickets are $50.00, two for $90.00, and more details are available at www.cascadiancenter.org/seder2013. Registration deadline is May 22nd. You can register online or by calling (360) 445-5061. Warm regards, John Hale Cascadian Center / Camp Brotherhood. (425) 865-0659 “All the branches are holy if the root is holy. No doubt some of the branches have been cut off, and, like shoots of wild olive, you have been grafted among the rest to share with them the rich sap provided by the olive tree itself, but still, even if you think yourself superior to the other branches, remember that you do not support the root; it is the root that supports you.” St. Paul’s letter to the Romans 11:16-19 |
