Hello Folks,

On behalf of the Social Justice Committee, I'd like to pass on the word about a special event coming up in August.

There will be a pilgrimage this August in support of comprehensive immigration reform. The walking prayer will begin on August 1 at the Church of the Assumption in Bellingham and conclude on August 15 at St. Leo’s in Tacoma after a short stop in front of the Tacoma Detention Center. For more information about how you can participate in the walk, including the route, please refer to the following website:

http://whatcom.blogs.com/pilgrimage/

"An actual walking pilgrimage can be a profound spiritual experience. This was certainly my experience as a member of the Bethlehem Peace Pilgrimage, a 7,000-mile walk for peace and nuclear disarmament (1982-1983). I look forward to participating in part of the August pilgrimage." - Jim Thomas

If anyone is interested in meeting at St Pat's before joining the pilgrimage, feel free to email me at sean@lynchclan.com. We can make arrangements for carpooling that way.

Please see the Pilgrimage website for the route, dates, prayer stops, and more.

Thanks,
Sean
