Hi dedicated Breadbakers:

Time for a spring schedule. Please therefore, let me know this week of your schedule preferences, when you’ll be out of town for example. I have the 8 – 10 am mass preferences already.

Also let me know if you’d like to sign up for Holy Saturday – Easter Vigil mass and if you’d like to bake communion bread for weddings and funerals. We welcome Bernadine Wentland to our ministry and know that Pat McKee will be on medical leave until the end of summer.

Marilyn Kavanaugh - 206/324-3104

PS Bernadine – If you have a few minutes after 10 am mass Sunday, I can give you the recipe and some baking tips.

Notes:

For the 8 AM masses the 5” round plus cubes to equal 75 are needed. Please score the round to equal 35 cubes when broken by Father Pat. Making the round a bit thinner makes the breaking easier.

For the 10 AM masses the 5” round plus cubes to equal 200 are needed. Again scoring the round to equal 35 makes it easier for Father Pat. You can always check the number attending each Sunday which is posted in the vesting room on the mirror as your enter. If my estimates are off please increase the number of bread cubes.

Please try to have the bread in the vesting room 20 minutes prior to mass. Have the bread in a zip lock baggy with the date/time of the mass as well as your name. If you are running late find the sacristan to let her/him know the bread is available.

We have a nice complement of bakers for the 10AM but are still a bit short at the 8 AM service.

I’ve tried to honor your schedule requests. If you need to reschedule try to find someone to trade with or call or e-mail me. Sylvia Swanke is available for last-minute needs. Thanks for your dedication to this ministry.

It looks like both Helen Brennan and I will be out of town on Dec. 28th and need a sub (or subs) to bake bread for both masses that day. Any interested bakers should contact Jenny Farrell at jennyfarl@hotmail.com. Thank you for considering this request!
